IT Business Applications Director

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Applications to provide strategic direction and operational oversight for the planning, implementation, support, integration, and ongoing improvement of core business systems. This role will lead application strategy, oversee daily support operations, and help ensure systems remain reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs.

This opportunity is well suited for someone who combines strong leadership skills with practical experience in enterprise systems, application support, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, planning, and lifecycle management for core business applications
• Oversee application implementation, support, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance
• Manage day-to-day application support operations and team performance
• Help ensure timely resolution of system issues, service requests, and user needs
• Lead application integration and process improvement initiatives
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Manage vendor relationships and support software evaluation, licensing, and service oversight
• Help establish and maintain standards for access, security, data integrity, and system reliability
• Support governance, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts across the application environment
• Monitor system performance and help drive usability, scalability, and support improvements
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for team members
• Support planning and oversight of application-related spending and priorities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of progressive experience supporting or managing business applications
• 2+ years of leadership experience in a senior applications, systems, or technology role
• Experience working with enterprise applications in a complex business environment
• Experience leading system integrations, application improvements, or related technical initiatives
• Experience managing support operations, priorities, and cross-functional collaboration
• Strong understanding of application security, access management, data integrity, and system support best practices
• Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, HR, or collaboration tools
• Experience with workflow automation or business process improvement tools
• Familiarity with vendor-managed or cloud-based software environments
• Relevant certifications in technology, project management, or service delivery

Compensation and Additional Information

• Up to 155k, mostly remote
